Try Seneca with your own export format
When a student opens a learning app for the first time, the app usually knows nothing about them, so it runs a placement quiz or guesses. Often another app has already watched that student work. The Seneca Starter Kit shows, step by step, how that earlier work can reach the next app with the student's permission.
Two versions of the same kit
The plain version is for founders and product leads. It follows one made-up student from a test app to a tutoring app in four steps, and shows what each app gets out of it.
The technical version is for engineers. It covers the input formats, what is kept and what is left behind, the output files, and a tester that runs in your browser. Paste a made-up export in CSV, JSON, xAPI or Caliper, map your column names if they differ, and see what would leave your app and what would stay. Nothing you paste is uploaded. The files, including a small script in JavaScript and Python, are available to download.
What stays behind
Names, emails, answer text and anything else the next app doesn't need stay in the app that collected them. The receiving app gets conclusions, each with where it came from, when, and how much evidence supports it. It never gets the first app's rows.
Writing, too
The kit includes a writing example. In a maths quiz, "4 of 5 right" is a fact. A writing score is someone's judgment, from a teacher or an AI grader, so Seneca files every writing score under whoever gave it and keeps both when they disagree. The essays themselves never leave the essay app.
What the kit is, and isn't
The kit uses teaching formats and made-up data. It is not the production integration contract. Partners receive that contract and the SDK in a sandbox, under agreement. Please don't paste real student data into the tester.
If you want to see Seneca with your own product, the kit ends with three ways to continue: an integration review, sending us a made-up example, or talking about a paid pilot.
